I just finished watching the movie ‘Country Strong’ and in as much as I didn’t like the fact that Kelly killed herself (which I thought was cowardly because you don’t commit suicide to get out of the issues or troubles of the world), I really enjoyed the movie and fell instantly in love with Beau (Garret Hedlund). The boys swag just makes my dada (not that I have one :P) to scatter. He defines coolness for me and if I were to consider following oyibo, he’ll be top on my list..right after Josep ‘Pep’ Guardiola…now this is one fine gentleman….mmmmm mmmm mmmm…
Ok, this is not a movie review so I’ll get right on with it. One song from this movie that got to me was ‘Give in to me’, performed by Garret Hedlund and Leighton Meester ,their performance was great btw, written by Billy Falcon, Rose Falcon and Elisha Hoffman. The reason this song struck a cord is cos, first of all, I’m a love sucker..I love LOVE and romance…every sappy little detail of love excites me. All those mushy touchy romantic movies that makes you want to cry..well, actually makes me cry…sometimes I want to pinch myself {sighs}. I believe in every bit of love, from the love story of ‘Lady and the tramp’ to the greatest love of all ‘The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross’..no love story can ever bit that..If a man could sacrifice himself for sinners like me and you based on such great love, who am I to doubt love?
Secondly, being in love and not knowing for sure if that love is reciprocated just makes you want to pull the other person close, crack the head and scream ‘Give in to me’ dammit…lol….they say persistence yields positive results and I wonder if like in the lyrics of the song, wearing the person down will actually get them to acknowledge this feeling or put them off totally. With so many rules out there on how to behave in a relationship, it is so difficult to know the right actions to take that at the end of the day all I can say is ‘Lord, let Thy will be done’.
